I've recently found crustaceans and caterpillars among Drosera, Pinguicula, and Sarracenia...
The other day I noticed these little shrimp-like things swimming around in the water tray for a pot of Sarracenia alata. After an internet search, I've concluded that they may be some type of clam shrimp. I'm not sure where they came from...possibly there were some eggs in the peat moss...
I've also had a bit of a problem with a few caterpillars lately. I've had to remove several of them from P. primuliflora and some Drosera. They did a lot of damage to Drosera binata...the caterpillar on it ate away a large chunk of the leaves. I see signs of new leaves emerging though...D. binata is a tough plant.
